The issue in GetHuman-careycas's own words
I received a new sim card from assurance wireless, took out the old sim card, put the new sim card in and did everything I was instructed to do, even gave the person at assurance wireless the new sim card number like five times. I had the phone turned off for over * hours like instructed, turned it back on after the * hours was up and it still says no sim card emergency calls only.
GetHuman-careycas did not yet indicate what Assurance Wireless should do to make this right.
