Calling this number was ineffective because the automated system gave the impression that I could speak to someone for multiple menus, only to reveal that I could not.
When I dialed this number, I went through the main menu, where I was asked to provide the reason for my call. I said that I wanted to get a quote for an insurance policy, only to discover that voice commands did not work. In order to get through to the next section of the menu, I had to go through the buttons of the menu.
After entering the correct data entry for three different menus, I was finally taken to the menu that applied to my situation. Unfortunately, I then found out that no calls were outside of certain business hours. The hours do give plenty of time on weekdays, but if you miss out on the weekdays, you won't be able to get a quote on either Saturday or Sunday.
You can use the automated system to check on your account with Nationwide on weekends, but only if you're already a customer. If you are not a Nationwide customer, you will get stuck in an endless loop. The system will ask you to enter a phone number to call you back during normal business hours, and it will not accept an invalid entry. If you try to say you will not enter a phone number, the system will simply repeat the message again and keep doing that.
Overall, I really was not impressed with how this call went. The system gave the impression that it could give me assistance on the weekend, but I found out that it was no help to non-customers outside of weekdays. Based on this phone call, I would not want to call Nationwide if I were a genuine customer.
