My daughter received a gift for her birthday. Her birthday was on April **. The gift was given to my daughter last weekend on Sunday May *. I work full time and have two young children. The closest Zara to my home is approximately ** min away. First thing sat morning (may **) I made my way to the mall. I was at the mall by *:** am only to be told that I was outside of the ** day return policy. I explained that I could not have come any sooner. I also explained that I did not want a refund or credit note. I wanted the EXACT SAME PANT only one size bigger. The pant was full price. It was not on sale. Nothing was done, but the * *** number was given to me. I called right at ** and explained the situation. This is the SECOND time this has happened to me. The exact same thing happened last year with a birthday gift for my daughter as well, which is why I was doubly frustrated. I also explained this to both store as well as customer service. It was a gift. I could not have come sooner. The customer service rep on phone could not help me. I had asked to speak to a manager and was told that I would get a call back within a few min. After an hour of waiting at the mall (I was not going to leave as it is ***Min away from my home. I had told this to the CR) I called back and was transferred to ALIYAH. She gave me a very standard response that I am sure is part of your corporation’s training as to why I couldn’t be helped. I asked to speak to someone else, perhaps in a higher position. Aliyah told be that as a supervisor, there is no one In The building higher than her. She told me to email the chat. She also told me that even In Emailing, nothing would be done. *I understand that Zara needs protection against people taking advantage of services, but in his situation, I feel like an exception should be made. I feel that returns from gifts should have a separate policy for this exact reason. What if by the time the gift is given, the one month time has elapsed? It is very frustrating. I truly hope that something can be done
