my brother in law passed away, and he was the verizon account owner of their Verizon prepaid plan account (they each had phones). My sister and I went to a Verizon store, and the technician said he took my brother in law off the account (we deactivated his phone) and he made my sister the account owner. My sister just added money to her account, but her phone has been deactivated. Online, it says she must contact the owner to transfer funds. But she is the owner! We can't get help at a Verizon store, or thru your phone number. Very frustrating! We need to make sure that my brother in law's name and information is removed from the account, and that my sister is made the account owner.
