Are there any age restrictions for dental and orthodontic services coverage?

Asked 6 months ago
There are age restrictions for dental and orthodontic services coverage provided by NC DMA. Children under the age of 21 are eligible for coverage, which includes comprehensive dental services and orthodontic treatment. However, adults aged 21 and older are only eligible for limited dental services, primarily focused on emergency and preventive care. The limited services for adults include extractions, X-rays, and preventive treatments, but major dental work such as dentures and crowns are not covered. Additionally, orthodontic services are not covered for adults. It is important to note that eligible individuals must be enrolled in Medicaid to benefit from these dental and orthodontic services.
