How Long Does It Take for a Deposit to Clear in My Bank of America Account?

Banking is a necessary experience, and there are some banks that help by showing what banking with them is like through their policies. Bank of America is one such bank. Although its name dates back to about 1922, Bank of America began its history earlier. Customers can now bank from their phones or from the privacy of their homes. Customers are thankful that Bank of America is upfront with its deposit agreements. So, how long does it take for a deposit to clear? The answer depends on the type of deposit and how you receive it. Read on to learn more.

Mobile Check vs Paper Check

Long before mobile banking, customers had to stand in lines to deposit their checks. Nowadays, it takes up to five business days or more, not including applicable mailing time. Today, if you're a Bank of America customer and deposit a paper Bank of America check, it deposits to your account in about one business day. A paper check from a different bank might take closer to two business days.

Mobile check deposits can be far quicker. Mobile checks are often credited the same day depending on the amount of the check and your state's banking laws. You can expect the funds to be released the next business day. Bank of America will alert you if it puts a hold on your check deposit for any reason.

Electronic Transfer

If someone decides to transfer funds from his or her personal account into yours, it's within three business days if your acquaintance does business with a different bank. Transfers from one Bank of America account to another are typically credited instantly.

Why does GetHuman Write How-to Guides for Bank of America Problems?

GetHuman has been working for over 10 years on sourcing information about big organizations like Comcast in order to help customers resolve customer service issues faster. We started with contact information and fastest ways to reach a human at big companies. Particularly ones with slow or complicated IVR or phone menu systems. Or companies that have self-serve help forums instead of a customer service department. From there, we realized that consumers still needed more detailed help solving the most common problems, so we expanded to this set of guides, which grows every day. And if you spot any issues with our What do I do if my Xfinity TV or internet is out? guide, please let us know by sending us feedback. We want to be as helpful as possible. If you appreciated this guide, please share it with your favorite people. Our free information and tools is powered by you, the customer. The more people that use it, the better it gets.
